The SEC has announced the full conference slate for all 14 teams for the 2017-18 season.
While dates have not been set for each conference game, every team around the league knows the list of opponents.
Although full schedules have not been announced yet, this is usually a good sign that every team’s schedule will be released in the near future.
Lovell’s Analysis:
There’s always a level of excitement that comes with the release of the conference schedule.
It gives fans an opportunity to see which teams will be coming to play at their place, and which potential road trips could be on tap for their team’s away games.
As I’ve said numerous times at this point, there will be no off nights in the SEC this season. Last year, there were a few teams – LSU and Missouri – that felt like guaranteed wins at times due to inconsistent play.
However, those teams have new coaches. And neither will be a pushover this year.
People enjoy playing the “who has the toughest schedule” game, but it’s a bit early to give definitive answers there. One thing that does stand out is that no team plays the following three teams twice: Kentucky, Florida, and Alabama.
Those are my top three SEC teams at the moment, so anyone that would have drawn that challenge would’ve been in a rough spot.
But considering the depth in the league from top to bottom, there will be no easy games. Even top teams like Kentucky and Florida will struggle at times.
And if you think anyone is running the table in this year’s SEC, think again. No one will be undefeated in conference play come March.
