The Georgia Bulldogs have released their non-conference schedule for the 2017-18 season.
Mark Fox and company are coming off a 19-15 season that included a first round NIT appearance.
Here’s how the non-conference schedule shakes out for the Bulldogs:
- 11/10 vs. Bryant
- 11/14 vs. USC-Upstate
- 11/19 vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
- 11/23-26 at Wooden Legacy (Cal State Fullerton, Depaul, Georgia, Harvard, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, St. Joseph’s)
- 12/2 at Marquette
- 12/5 vs. Winthrop
- 12/16 at UMass
- 12/19 vs. Georgia Tech
- 12/22 vs. Temple
- 1/27/18 at Kansas State (Big 12/SEC Challenge)
Lovell’s Analysis:
It’s a big season ahead for Fox and the Bulldogs, and this non-conference slate presents some interesting challenges.
The first three games are your typical “get into a rhythm” games before heading to California to take on an intriguing Wooden Legacy field.
The rest of the non-conference schedule features solid matchups across the board, as trips to Marquette, UMass, and Kansas State, won’t be easy.
Neither will home games against Georgia Tech and Temple.
Of course, the good news for Fox is that Yante Maten returns to lead a roster that’ll need to create its own offense after the departure of do-it-all guard J.J. Frazier.
How the rest of the roster develops around Maten will determine whether the Bulldogs are in a good spot when they begin SEC play in late December.
