As expected, Kentucky head coach John Calipari has denied interest in the New York Knicks front office vacancy.
After rumors swirled that someone from Calipari’s camp had reached out to express interest in the position, the Wildcats’ coach immediately addressed the situation via Twitter.
NO ONE has contacted the Knicks on my behalf. I am the coach at Kentucky and will be for a long time!

Even in Egypt I can’t escape the rumors. Are you kidding me?! It’s 5 in the morning here and this is what I wake up to?

Calipari is currently in Cairo to serve as the head coach of the USA U19 team that is participating in the FIBA World Cup.
Lovell’s Analysis:
Another offseason, another Calipari to the NBA rumor.
And just in case anyone isn’t aware: these offseason rumors aren’t going anywhere. They’ll continue to exist for as long as Calipari is coaching in Lexington.
He’s had tremendous success at the college level, and he is consistently molding young players of the NBA experience.
That’s exactly why there will forever be links to him leaving Kentucky for the NBA.
And someday, it very well could happen. However, leaving a unique situation at Kentucky for a franchise in turmoil makes no sense, even if it does come with a lot more power.
Calipari is set for life with the Wildcats, and if he ever does leave for the NBA, it’ll be for a much more stable situation than the one in New York.
