Ben Howland’s squad won’t leave Starkville until a December 12 contest at Cincinnati.
Lovell’s Analysis:
On paper, Mississippi State’s non-conference schedule is a bit more lenient than most SEC non-conference schedules.
All but one of the games will be played in the state of Mississippi, so that’s a positive for Howland and company.
The reasoning for a more home-based schedule likely has to due with inexperience.
This is a team that lost a ton of close games down the stretch last season and is still trying to figure out how to win consistently.
The Bulldogs should have an opportunity to build a lot of momentum heading into SEC play.
Then we’ll find out if they’re ready to start winning those close games.
