For the 13th time since the 1998-99 season, Kentucky has been as the SEC basketball preseason champion.
The media picked the Wildcats to win the title, with Florida, Texas A&M, and Alabama finishing behind them.

The preseason media poll is voted on by media members both within the SEC and nationally.
SEC Basketball Media Day takes place today in Nashville.
Lovell’s Analysis
This proves the point that I made yesterday in my lengthy preseason power rankings post:
Many teams are going to be picked in many different places.
I’m higher on Auburn than the media. I’m lower on teams like Georgia and South Carolina.
But guess what? No one can feel completely confident about picking the SEC this season. There are too many good teams and too many good coaches in this league now.
The competition will be fierce, and on any given night, anyone can beat anyone.
Yes, that includes the No. 14 team having a chance to beat the No. 1 team.
More coverage to come of SEC Tipoff ’18.
