AP Poll: Auburn inching closer to top 10 ranking after big week

After a two convincing victories this past week, Auburn moved up eight spots in the newest AP poll to earn its highest ranking of the season.

The Tigers landed at No. 11 in this week’s poll with wins over Missouri and LSU, and Bruce Pearl’s team now sits at 19-2 on the year.

Tennessee continued its ascent as well, with the Vols moving up four spots to No. 18 after earning their third straight victory with a 23-point win at Iowa State in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

As expected, Kentucky reentered the poll after dropping out for the first time since 2014.

The Wildcats jumped back into the mix as No. 21 after erasing a large second-half deficit to score a huge win at West Virginia.

Florida rounded out the poll for the SEC at No. 23, as the Gators went 1-1 this past week.

The only other SEC team in consideration for this week’s poll was Alabama, with Avery Johnson’s team receiving votes following their upset win over Oklahoma.
