After Missouri and Georgia scored big wins this week, there are now nine SEC teams are currently in the NCAA Tournament picture.
The February 1 bracketology update from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi includes seven teams in the field, while the Tigers and Bulldogs are considered the first two teams out.
Missouri took a solid step forward with a road victory at Alabama on Wednesday, while Georgia scored a huge home win over Florida on Tuesday.
Auburn continues to be the leader in the SEC, and it’s paying off with a projected No. 2 seed at the moment.
Tennessee stayed on track with a blowout win over LSU, with the Vols staying at No. 4 seed.
Kentucky is next in line at a No. 5 seed, and Florida is trending downward at a No. 6.
Here’s the full seeding list:
- No. 2 Auburn
- No. 4 Tennessee
- No. 5 Kentucky
- No. 6 Florida
- No. 9 Alabama
- No. 9 Arkansas
- No. 10 Texas A&M
- First Four Out: Missouri, Georgia
After Wednesday’s games, 9 of 14 SEC teams have at least five losses in conference play, so it’s definitely been a competitive season thus far.
Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, and Alabama are the only teams with winning records in the league.
