Less than a week after announcing his resignation, Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy has decided to step down immediately.
The original plan was for Kennedy to finish out the season, but the school announced on Sunday that he would already be leaving his post.
Tony Madlock will take over as the acting head coach for the rest of the season.

Kennedy led Ole Miss to nine 20-win seasons during his tenure in Oxford, which included eight postseason appearances.
The Rebels advanced to the NCAA Tournament twice and never finished lower than sixth in the SEC standings until this year.
