After former Ohio State coach Thad Matta turned down the Georgia position on Wednesday, it appears that the school is interested in another top coaching candidate.
According to Seth Emerson of DawgNation.com, Georgia contacted former Indiana coach Tom Crean on Wednesday to discuss the position.
Crean has served as an ESPN college basketball analyst since being fired by Indiana last season.
He led the Hoosiers to four NCAA Tournament appearances, and during his time at Marquette, led the Golden Eagles to a Final Four in 2003.
Crean has a career record of 356-231 and nine seasons of 20 or more wins.
He has also reportedly drawn interest from Pittsburgh, who recently parted ways with second-year head coach Kevin Stallings after going winless in ACC play this season.
Georgia appears to be the only SEC job opening remaining, as Ole Miss expected to hire Middle Tennessee head coach Kermit Davis as early as Thursday.
