New Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway has announced that the school will once again play Tennessee on the hardwood.
Hardaway revealed the info during a radio appearance on ESPN 92.9 FM in Memphis, with the two schools set to renew their series starting with the 2018-19 season.
He also mentioned working on a potential series with Kentucky at some point in the future.
Penny on schedule: Tennessee is back on the schedule. I’m trying to get a home and home with Cal. Cal promised me if I became a head coach we’d get something set up.”

Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes confirmed that the Vols would indeed be playing the Tigers next season, and that matchup would feature his team traveling to FedEx Forum.
Memphis is expected to travel to Knoxville for the 2019-20 matchup, and the third game in the series will likely take place in Nashville.
Rick Barnes asked about the Tennessee-Memphis series: "We had been working on it with Tubby Smith since we got here. Don't hold me to this, but the way the contract sets up, I think we go there first, then they come here. We have a meeting in Nashville."

Tennessee and Memphis last played during the 2012-13 season, which saw the Tigers score an 85-80 win at Thompson Boling Arena.
Hardaway takes over for Tubby Smith, who was fired after only two seasons in Memphis.
