South Carolina forward Brian Bowen has declared for the 2018 NBA draft.
Bowen will not sign with an agent, which would allow him to return to the Gamecocks if he withdraws from the draft process by May 30.
The former 5-star Louisville commit did not play this past season after being suspended following the FBI’s probe into college basketball.
Brian Bowen, who is hoping for the NCAA to clear him to play next season at South Carolina, told ESPN he will declare for the NBA Draft in case that doesn’t happen. Story coming.

South Carolina has filed for Bowen’s reinstatement, but it is not yet known whether he will be eligible to play next season.
According to 247Sports, the 6-7 small forward was ranked as the No. 19 overall player and the No. 5 small forward in the 2017 recruiting class.
Prior to Bowen’s announcement, NBADraft.net had him slotted as the No. 33 overall pick in the 2019 draft.
Fellow teammate Chris Silva has also declared for the draft and does not intend to sign with an agent.
The Gamecocks went 17-16 overall this season after advancing to the Final Four for the first time in school history during the 2016-17 season.
