Georgia forward Issac Kante will transfer from the program.

The Brooklyn native averaged just 2.4 minutes per game and appeared in only 10 games for the Bulldogs this past season.

The 6-7 freshman committed to Georgia back in May 2017 after also considering Georgetown, St. John’s, Kansas State, Old Dominion, and St. Bonaventure.

According to 247Sports, he was rated as a 3-star prospect and the No. 8 overall player in Connecticut.

Some reports suggest that Kante’s decision to leave the school involved wanting to be closer to home.

Georgia returns several important rotation players heading into next season but loses the reigning SEC Player of the Year, Yante Maten, to graduation.

Turtle Jackson and Derek Ogbeide return as two of the team’s top four scorers, and Tom Crean will also have a versatile sophomore class that includes Rayshaun Hammonds, Nicolas Claxton, and Teshaun Hightower.

The Bulldogs finished 18-15 overall this season, which led to the school firing former head coach Mark Fox.
