Mississippi State guard Lamar Peters has withdrawn from the 2018 NBA draft and will return to school for his junior season.
Peters announced the news via Twitter on Saturday after officially declaring for the draft back on April 4.
The 6-0 point guard averaged 9.6 points and 4.5 assists in 27.7 minutes per game this past season.

Peters posted 14 double-digit scoring games and had back-to-back 20-point outings in the Bulldogs’ SEC Tournament games against LSU and Tennessee.
Ben Howland will now await the decision of Quinndary Weatherspoon, who entered the draft without signing with an agent. He has until May 30 to withdraw in order to retain his college eligibility.
Quinndary’s brother, Nick, has already announced his intentions to return for his sophomore season after also testing the draft waters.
Howland will bring in a top-15 recruiting class next season, as Mississippi State boasts a trio of 4-star prospects in Reggie Perry, Robert Woodard, and DJ Stewart. Jethro Tshisumpa, a 6-10 JUCO center, recently signed with the program as well.
The Bulldogs finished 25-12 overall this past season and advanced to the NIT final four before losing to eventual champion Penn State.
