J’Von McCormick, a JUCO point guard who played for Lee College the past two seasons, has committed to Auburn.

McCormick announced his commitment via Instagram on Tuesday.

He averaged 18.5 points and 6.4 assists in 28 games for Lee during the 2017-18 season.

McCormick also shot 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and committed just 107 turnovers on the year as the team’s primary ball handler.

He will join an Auburn team that will have to replace its leading scorer in Mustapha Heron, but still returns the bulk of its rotation from this past season.

Bruce Pearl gets back his starting backcourt duo in Bryce Brown and Jared Harper, as both players withdrew from the 2018 NBA draft after declaring as early entrants.

Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy, who both sat out last season due to being ruled ineligible by the NCAA, will also return to the mix. Purifoy must sit out the first nine games of the season before being eligible to return to action.

The Tigers went 26-9 overall and earned a share of the SEC regular season title before losing to Clemson in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

It was Auburn’s first regular season title since 1999 and first tournament appearance since 2003.
