Missouri forward Jontay Porter will miss the 2018-19 season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in the team’s scrimmage against Southern Illinois on Sunday.
Porter, who withdrew from the NBA draft to return for his sophomore season despite likely being a first-round pick, was a preseason Second Team All-SEC selection.
He averaged 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 24.5 minutes per game last season while shooting 36.4 percent from 3-point range.

Porter was expected to be Cuonzo Martin’s top playmaker this upcoming season after Missouri lost its three leading scorers from a year ago.
Current 2019 NBA draft projections have Porter as a potential top-10 pick.
The Tigers will tip off the regular season on Nov. 6 against Central Arkansas.
