Much has been made of the new NCAA NET rankings, which were designed to replace the RPI as one of the most important metrics used in selecting the tournament field.
So, with SEC teams finishing up their non-conference schedule, the NET rankings are starting to matter quite a bit.
Here’s a look at where all 14 teams sit in the current NET rankings:
- No. 8 Tennessee
- No. 18 Mississippi State
- No. 22 Kentucky
- No. 24 Auburn
- No. 26 LSU
- No. 41 Vanderbilt
- No. 45 Ole Miss
- No. 49 Florida
- No. 70 Missouri
- No. 73 Texas A&M
- No. 85 Alabama
- No. 91 Georgia
- No. 95 Arkansas
- No. 219 South Carolina
Most teams still have a few non-conference matchups left before the start of league play on Jan. 5, so the SEC should be in a good spot with eight teams in the top 50.
Tennessee continues to lead the conference in the AP poll, with the Vols currently ranked at No. 3 in the nation.
