The SEC/Big 12 Challenge provided plenty of entertaining games, with several SEC teams grabbing quality victories.
Of course, it was the Big 12 that came out on top with a 6-4 advantage in the challenge, so not every SEC team was able to capitalize on what would have been a nice boost to their NCAA Tournament resume.
There wasn’t a ton of movement in the NET rankings after the challenge, with most of the SEC’s top teams staying around the same spot.
Here’s where teams stand after the weekend’s action:
- No. 6 Tennessee
- No. 7 Kentucky
- No. 16 LSU
- No. 27 Auburn
- No. 29 Mississippi State
- No. 36 Ole Miss
- No. 37 Florida
- No. 43 Alabama
- No. 69 Arkansas
- No. 79 Missouri
- No. 88 Georgia
- No. 108 Texas A&M
- No. 113 South Carolina
With the challenge extended for another six seasons, it should give the SEC many more opportunities to boost its profile heading into the tournament each year.
For now, it seems likely that the league should have a chance to land at least seven teams in the tournament this season.
