4/2 Update: The Reno Gazette Journal spoke with Danyelle Musselman, who stated that the Nevada coach has no plans to go anywhere.

Nevada head coach Eric Musselman has reportedly emerged as one of the top candidates for the Arkansas head coaching vacancy.

The Razorbacks recently fired Mike Anderson after eight seasons, with the team going 18-16 overall and making the NIT this past season.

Meanwhile, Musselman led Nevada to 29 wins and its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, with the Wolf Pack losing to Florida in the first round.

But it appears that he could be set to take over in Fayetteville, according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

Musselman is 110-34 in four seasons in Reno, and he’s undoubtedly one of the hottest names on the coaching market right now.

He also has previous SEC ties, as he served as the associate head coach under Johnny Jones at LSU during the 2014-15 season.

There was speculation that Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson could be a frontrunner for the job, but the Houston Chronicle reported on Tuesday that he was finalizing a new deal with the school.
