Virginia captured college basketball’s biggest prize on Monday night with a thrilling win over Texas Tech, and many people are already looking ahead to next season.
One of those people is ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, who has unveiled his way-too-early bracketology for the 2020 NCAA Tournament.
Of course, considering how much roster turnover there is between now and June, it’s simply impossible to know which players will return and which will pursue professional opportunities.

But everyone loves bracketology, so Lunardi has given the people what they want.
As for the SEC, he has six teams projected to make the field, with Auburn and Kentucky both slated as a 2-seed at this point.
Here’s where the six SEC teams stand in the very early bracket:
- No. 2 Auburn
- No. 2 Kentucky
- No. 6 Tennessee
- No. 8 Florida
- No. 8 Ole Miss
- No. 8 Mississippi State
Alabama and LSU are also among the teams on the bubble.
The SEC landed seven teams in the tournament this season, with four of them advancing to the Sweet 16 while Auburn earned its first Final Four appearance.
