Former Cal and UCLA assistant David Grace is reportedly set to become Jerry Stackhouse’s new associate head coach at Vanderbilt.
Grace served in the United States Air Force for 20 years before starting his coaching career on the AAU circuit back in 1997.
He joined the college ranks in 2006 as an assistant at Sacramento State, and since then, he’s had stops at San Francisco, Oregon State, UCLA, and Cal.

His college coaching experience should be an invaluable resource for Stackhouse, who is making the transition into the college game.
Grace is also widely considered to be one of the best recruiters in the country, which should help the program try to get back on track in a hurry after going winless in the SEC this past season.
Vanderbilt will return several key contributors in Saben Lee and Aaron Nesmith, while Simi Shittu is expected to pursue professional opportunities after declaring for the NBA draft.
The Commodores currently only have two players in their 2019 recruiting class after 4-star guard Austin Crowley de-committed and eventually chose Ole Miss following the coaching change.
