Cal State Bakersfield transfer guard Jarkel Joiner has committed to Ole Miss.
The 6-1 sophomore revealed his decision on Thursday after pursuing a transfer from Bakersfield back in early April.
Joiner is an Oxford native that attended Oxford High School, so it makes plenty of sense why he’d want to return to his roots to continue his playing career.

He averaged 15.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season for the Roadrunners.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Joiner will be forced to sit out the 2019-20 season.
However, there’s no doubt that Kermit Davis and company are thrilled with adding an impactful player to the backcourt, as Joiner should factor into the rotation once he’s eligible.
The Rebels have already compiled a top 40 recruiting class for next season thanks to the addition of 4-star shooting guard Austin Crowley, who had previously committed to Vanderbilt.
