Mississippi State guard Lamar Peters has declared for the 2019 NBA draft.
Head coach Ben Howland discussed Peters’ plans during a media session on Monday, which include signing with an agent.
Howland also noted that Peters would not return to the team next season, even with new NCAA rules allowing players to sign with agents and still have the opportunity to retain their college eligibility.
Ben Howland told reporters that Lamar Peters will not return to Mississippi State next season after entering the NBA Draft. Also stated that he expects Nick Weatherspoon to be the Bulldogs' starting PG in 19-20.

Peters averaged 11.9 points and 5.2 assists per game this past season.
Mississippi State must also replace leading scorer Quinndary Weatherspoon, senior guard Tyson Carter, and versatile frontcourt contributor Aric Holman.
Freshman forward Reggie Perry has also declared for the draft, but it seems likely that he’s doing so to gather feedback prior to returning to the program.
The Bulldogs have three players signed in the 2019 recruiting class, with 4-star small forward Elias King, and 3-star shooting guard Iverson Molinar and combo guard Devin Butts headed to Starkville.
