Former Mississippi State guard Quinndary Weatherspoon has signed a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
Weatherspoon was drafted by the Spurs with the No. 49 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
And prior to the team’s NBA Summer League game against the Toronto Raptors, he officially inked his first pro contract.

Weatherspoon scored 19 points and added seven rebounds in his Summer League debut on Sunday.
He averaged 18.5 points per game in his senior season with the Bulldogs, which helped him earn First Team All-SEC honors.
Lovell’s Analysis
Weatherspoon emerged as one of the top playmakers in the SEC in recent years, and his versatility should allow him to adjust well to the pro level.
Of course, with his exit to San Antonio, Ben Howland and company must find a way to replace his production on both sides of the court.
The positive for the Bulldogs is that Nick Weatherspoon and Tyson Carter both return, and they will certainly have expanded roles with Quinndary and former starting point guard Lamar Peters off to the NBA.
With sophomore forward Reggie Perry also returning after winning the MVP award at the FIBA U19 World Cup, it should give Howland a talented nucleus to work with in Starkville.
