Texas A&M basketball joins the group of teams in college basketball set to take a preseason trip this summer.
The school announced that the team will head to Costa Rica from Aug. 4-10, with three games scheduled against national all-star teams from the country.
The Aggies will square off against the Panama All Stars on Aug. 5 and the Costa Rica All Stars on Aug. 6 before preparing for a rematch with Panama on Aug. 7.

It’s also worth noting that Texas A&M has partnered with Samaritan’s Feet, with Williams and company set to visit local elementary schools while also joining with the Special Olympics of Costa Rica to hold a basketball clinic on Aug. 6.
The trip to Costa Rica will be Williams’ first opportunity to see the Aggies against different competition since taking over as head coach.
Lovell’s Analysis
Coaches all around the country talk about the value of foreign trips, and the Aggies will be able to build chemistry both and off the court.
Williams gets three double-digit scorers back in Savion Flagg, Wendell Mitchell, and TJ Starks, but he also welcomes in several talented newcomers.
That combination should allow the Aggies to find some success in Williams’ first season on the job.
