The two teams will first square off on Dec. 30 in Nashville this upcoming season, with the return game at Davidson during the 2020-21 season.
They’ve met seven teams previously, with the Commodores holding a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series.

Bob McKillop returns several key contributors after winning 24 games a season ago, and the Wildcats should be among the top contenders in the Atlantic 10 title race.
As for the Commodores, they bring back a nice scoring duo in Saben Lee and Aaron Nesmith, but Jerry Stackhouse and company will try to turn things around quickly after a winless season in SEC play.
Lovell’s Analysis
Davidson has consistently been one of the best mid-major programs in the country, and McKillop has plenty of talent on the roster entering the season.
Of course, there are lots of unknowns when it comes to how Vanderbilt basketball will look in Stackhouse’s first year.
The staff has brought in solid young talent, but the development of other returning players like Clevon Brown, Matthew Moyer, and Max Evans is going to be essential to the team’s success.
Either way, having the Wildcats on the schedule is a positive since they’ll be an opportunity to grab a quality win.
