Chris Lee and Blake Lovell preview the Missouri Tigers for the 2023 season in SEC football.
MISSOURI OFFENSE
– Kirby Moore (Fresno State) joins the program to lead the offense as offensive coordinator, play-caller, and QB coach.
– Brady Cook, Jake Garcia, and Sam Horn all could be in contention for the starting QB job (83rd in passing efficiency in 2022).
– Luther Burden figures to be the top playmaker on offense after the exit of Dominic Lovett (Georgia).
– The Tigers finished 85th in scoring offense, 63rd in rushing offense, 90th in passing offense, and 81st in total offense in 2022.
MISSOURI DEFENSE
– Missouri returns the bulk of its defense after being the most improved unit in the SEC a season ago.
– Darius Robinson (DT), Ty’Ron Hopper (LB), Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (CB) and more are impact players on what could be one of the best defenses in the conference.
– The Tigers have great depth on the defensive line but do have to replace Isaiah McGuire, who was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
