Ulric Maligi named new assistant coach at Texas A&M

Former SMU assistant Ulric Maligi has joined Billy Kennedy’s staff at Texas A&M.

The hired comes after former Aggies assistant Rick Stansbury and Kyle Keller bolted for head coaching positions elsewhere.

Maligi graduated from Howard in 2006 and has made several stops along the way during his coaching career.

He served as assistant under Larry Brown at SMU from 2012-2015, and was previously an assistant at Houston and Stephen F. Austin prior to that.

This is a great choice for Kennedy on his staff, as it’s clear that Maligi knows a whole lot about college basketball in the state of Texas.

He should be able to be a key figure in the team’s recruiting going forward.
