Five-star 2018 shooting guard Keldon Johnson has listed his final five schools.
The 6-foot-5 Oak Hill product revealed via Instagram that Texas, Kentucky, NC State, Maryland, and Florida State have made the cut.
Johnson is visiting Maryland this weekend after already taking official visits to Texas (September 1), NC State (September 8), and Kentucky (September 15). He will visit Florida State next weekend.
The Longhorns and Wildcats are widely considered the front-runners for the highly-talented guard.
Lovell’s Analysis
Johnson is Virginia’s best prospect in this 2018 class and he’s easily a Top 15 talent.
With John Calipari landing his first prospect of the class in 5-star point guard Immanuel Quickley, Johnson would certainly be a nice complimentary piece in the backcourt.
And while Texas is getting a lot of attention as the overall favorite to land him, we all know that you can never count out Calipari on the recruiting trail.
Should Johnson decide to take his talents to Lexington, it would be further proof that the train of NBA-caliber guards making their way to Kentucky won’t be stopping any time soon.
It seems likely that Johnson’s decision will come shortly after his official visit with the Seminoles.
