Lovell’s Analysis
While it may be unusual to see Kentucky involved with anything less than a 5-star prospect, Hayes has to the potential to be an impact player in Lexington.
Hayes received his Kentucky offer on September 19 and clearly enjoyed his visit with John Calipari and assistant coach Kenny Payne.
The Wildcats have already picked up 5-star point guard Immanuel Quickley in this class, and this is obviously just the beginning stages of building that group of talent.
Most projections have Hayes choosing Texas, but as we’ve learned many times over the years, you simply never count out Calipari and his staff on the recruiting trail.
Even if Hayes heads elsewhere, we all know that Kentucky will still have plenty of elite talent to choose from in filling out its 2018 recruiting class.
