Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes served as Clemson head coach from 1994-1998.
He went 74-48 with three NCAA Tournament appearances during his time with the Tigers.
Lovell’s Analysis
Another great idea for a charity exhibition game.
Not only is it another way to raise money for hurricane relief efforts, but it’s a cool idea to have Barnes visit one of his former coaching stops.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 20 years since Barnes exited Clemson to coach at Texas, and it’ll undoubtedly be a great experience for him to return to a place that helped showcase his coaching talents for four seasons.
The game itself should also be intriguing considering that both teams are fighting to stay in the mix in competitive conferences this season.
