Lovell’s Analysis
Many people will read into what the altered announcement means (the Wednesday announcement would have overlapped with Indiana’s game against Seton Hall), but what seems clear is that Garland has narrowed his choices to two schools: Indiana or Vanderbilt.
There doesn’t seem to be a sure feeling either way as to which Garland could choose, and of course, you should never count out John Calipari in a recruiting battle.
However, it feels like it’s the Hoosiers or the Commodores for Garland.
Indiana would make sense due to his father’s ties and the excellent basketball tradition. Vanderbilt would make sense due to his mother’s ties and the opportunity to star for the hometown school.
Either way, one of these schools is getting an outstanding point guard that can be a major impact player going forward.
