Romeo Langford includes Vandy in final 3 schools

Romeo Langford, a 5-star shooting guard in the 2018 recruiting class, has included Vanderbilt among the final three schools that he is considering.

Langford announced his final three on Saturday via Twitter, with Indiana and Kansas also making the cut.

Langford is ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in ESPN’s Top 100 for the 2018 class.

The Commodores are also heavily in the mix for big man Simi Shittu (No. 6 overall) and point guard Darius Garland (No. 11 overall.

Lovell’s Analysis

With Shittu canceling his scheduled visit to North Carolina and Garland scheduled to announce his college decision on Monday, Vandy fans have to be dreaming about the road ahead.

The fact that the Commodores are in the mix for three players of this caliber shows how effective Bryce Drew and his staff have been on the recruiting trail, and even landing one of these excellent prospects would give Vanderbilt a big boost going into next season.

Langford is a prolific scorer that can put up points in a lot of different ways, and his versatility and size (6-6 with a 6-10 wingspan) makes him so difficult to guard.

Knowing that Vandy and Indiana are among the final options for both Garland and Langford, it certainly makes both fan bases think about the possibilities of having these two on the court together in 2018.

But again, Drew having the Commodores in the mix for all three of these impressive talents definitely shows that the program is heading in a great direction.
