Shooting guard Antwann Jones commits to Texas A&M

Antwann Jones, a 4-star shooting guard in the 2018 recruiting class, has committed to Texas A&M.

Jones is expected to sign with the Aggies at a ceremony at his school on Tuesday.

He decommitted from Oklahoma State in September following the announce of the FBI’s ongoing investigation into college basketball, which included then assistant coach Lamont Evans.

The 6-6 Tampa product is ranked as the No. 45 overall player in ESPN’s Top 100 for 2018.

He is the first commitment for the Aggies in next year’s class.

Lovell’s Analysis

Billy Kennedy keeps bringing good talent to College Station, with Jones being the latest guard to join an already deep roster.

With freshman guards T.J. Starks and Jay Jay Chandler showing promise early on, Texas A&M should be in excellent shape next season in adding Jones to the mix.

And let’s not forget that Admon Gilder is only a junior, and J.J. Caldwell hasn’t even played a game yet.

So, it’s safe to say that the Aggies will have plenty of depth in the backcourt when next season rolls around.

And when you combine that with a great frontcourt group that could include Tyler Davis, D.J. Hogg, and Savion Flagg, it should keep Texas A&M near the top of the SEC.
