SEC announces 2018 men’s basketball awards

The SEC announced its 2018 awards on Tuesday, which included the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for the 2017-18 season.

Tennessee forward Grant Williams was named the league’s top player, while Rick Barnes was voted top coach.

Alabama guard Collin Sexton and Kentucky forward Kevin Knox were named Co-Freshman of the Year.

Honors for Defensive Player of the Year went to Texas A&M forward Robert Williams and South Carolina forward Chris Silva.

Meanwhile, the league’s Sixth Man of the Year award was shared by Missouri’s Jontay Porter and Tennessee’s Lamonte Turner.

Georgia guard Juwan Parker picked up the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
