Michael Porter Jr. to play for Missouri on Thursday

Missouri forward Michael Porter Jr. is expected to return to the court in the team’s second round SEC Tournament game on Thursday.

Porter missed the regular season due to injury after playing only two minutes in Mizzou’s season opener against Iowa State.

Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin told reporters on Wednesday that Porter will not start and would “be surprised if he plays 30 minutes.”

Porter is still projected as top five pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

The Tigers have compiled a 20-11 record this season and will enter the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed after finishing 10-8 in league play.

Martin’s squad will await the winner of the first round matchup between Georgia and Vanderbilt.

Thursday’s second round game will tip off at 3 p.m CST, with the winner set to take on Kentucky on Friday.
