Texas A&M forward Robert Williams to declare for NBA draft

Texas A&M sophomore Robert Williams will enter the 2018 NBA draft.

Williams announced his decision following Texas A&M’s blowout loss to Michigan in the Sweet 16 in Los Angeles.

He scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting and grabbed six rebounds in what proved to be his final game in an Aggie uniform.

Despite being expected to declare for the draft after a stellar freshman season with the Aggies, Williams chose to return for another year.

He averaged 10.3 points and 9.3 rebounds this season, while also contributing 2.6 blocks per game.

The Louisiana native racked up seven double-doubles and recorded a block in all but three games.

According to most projections, Williams is considered to be a potential lottery pick in this year’s draft.
