Ashton Hagans, a 5-star point guard in the 2019 recruiting class, has officially committed to Kentucky.

Hagans announced his commitment via Twitter on Tuesday morning.

Recent reports suggest that the Georgia native will likely reclassify and join the 2018 class.

According to 247Sports, Hagans is the top point guard and No. 8 prospect overall in the 2019 class.

Should he reclassify, it would like move Kentucky to No. 1 in the overall team rankings for this year’s class. The Wildcats are currently No. 2, with Duke holding the top spot.

Hagans was previously committed to Georgia, but reopened his recruitment in late February. John Calipari and company offered him on March 29.

Kentucky’s 2018 commits include 5-star prospects Keldon Johnson, Immanuel Quickley, and EJ Montgomery, with the latter announcing his commitment on Monday. Tyler Herro, a four-star shooting guard and top 35 prospect, has also signed.

The Wildcats went 26-11 this season and made it to the Sweet 16 before losing to Kansas State.
