LSU Basketball: Tigers land JUCO wing Marlon Taylor

LSU has received a commitment from 2018 JUCO wing Marlon Taylor.

The 6-6 prospect took an official visit to the school last week.

Taylor played at Panola College in Florida, where he averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds this past season.

He shot 49.8 percent from the floor and 44.1 percent from 3-point range while shooting 80.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Taylor joins an already loaded 2018 group for Will Wade and company, as the Tigers have compiled a top-five class.

LSU has signed two 5-star power forwards in Naz Reid and Emmitt Williams, as well as 4-star combo guard Ja’Vonte Smart and 4-star power forward Darius Days.

Wade will add that crop of talent to a solid returning nucleus, which includes standout point guard Tremont Waters. The rising sophomore has entered his name into the 2018 NBA draft, but will have the option of returning to Baton Rouge next season since he does not intend to sign with an agent.

The Tigers went 18-15 overall in Wade’s first season and advanced to the second round of the NIT.
