Amir Abdur-Rahim has been named the newest assistant coach at Georgia.

Abdur-Rahim joins the Bulldogs after spending the past four seasons on Billy Kennedy’s staff at Texas A&M.

Prior to that, the Atlanta native had coaching stints at Georgia Tech, College of Charleston, and Murray State.

With the addition of Abdur-Rahim, new Georgia coach Tom Crean has officially completed his staff, which also includes assistants Chad Dollar and Joe Scott.

Dollar came over from South Florida, while Scott joined after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant at Holy Cross.

Crean and company will heading into their first season in Athens looking to replace the production of do-it-all forward Yante Maten (19.3 ppg, 8.6 rpg), who was the only Georgia player to average double figures during the 2017-18 season.

The Bulldogs finished 18-15 overall and missed the NCAA Tournament, which led to the firing of former head coach Mark Fox after nine seasons.
