Tennessee forward Grant Williams needs no introduction. At least now he doesn’t.

Of course, it hasn’t always that been that way.

Williams entered Knoxville as a 3-star recruit with minimal power conference offers, and he’s since transformed himself into the reigning SEC Player of the Year.

The Vols return nearly their entire group from a regular season title a year ago, and there’s little doubt that Williams will once again be one of the most impactful players in the country.

Inside the Numbers

Williams put up 15.2 points and 6.0 rebounds last season in playing 28.8 minutes per game.

He shot 47.3 percent from the floor and 76.4 percent from the free-throw line, and his efficient approach will continue to be one of his strong suits moving forward.

Williams got to the line at least seven times in 15 games, with his attacking style being a staple of this Tennessee team’s approach.

As a junior, Williams’ numbers might not go up dramatically, but they should be as consistent as ever.

2018-19 Season Outlook

Williams defines what the Vols are all about.

Rick Barnes doesn’t have a roster filled with 5-star recruits, but he does have a roster of versatile playmakers that simply go out and outwork the competition.

Tennessee will start the season a popular preseason top-10 team, and Williams is a big reason why.

He has an excellent chance to repeat as the SEC’s top player in what could be a potential Final Four season for the Vols.
