NCAA grants waiver to Missouri guard Mark Smith

The NCAA has officially granted an eligibility waiver for Missouri guard Mark Smith, making him eligible to play for the 2018-19 season.

Smith joined the program this offseason after transferring from Illinois and was expected to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules.

The 6-4 point guard averaged 5.8 points in 19.1 minutes per game for the Illini last season.

Missouri has also applied for a waiver for Dru Smith, who transferred from Evansville.

The Tigers will enter the season without star forward Jontay Porter after he suffered a torn ACL and MCL in a closed scrimmage against Southern Illinois.
