It was another wild week of SEC basketball action, with several incredible games that were decided in thrilling fashion.

Of course, the most notable developments involved the top three teams in the conference, as they all produced some interesting moments.

Let’s get to this week’s SEC basketball power rankings.

1. Kentucky Wildcats (21-4, 10-2)

Despite losing to LSU, the Wildcats were so impressive against the top team in the country that it feels reasonable at this point to move them up to this spot.

2. Tennessee Volunteers (23-2, 11-1)

While Tennessee’s disappointing performance in Lexington was less than ideal, the Vols can make up for it this week when they prepare for matchups against Vanderbilt and LSU.

3. LSU Tigers (21-4, 11-1)

Honestly, you could easily make the argument for the Tigers as the top team in the SEC right now, and they could very well be the favorite to capture the regular season title with their next three games in Baton Rouge.

4. South Carolina Gamecocks (13-12, 8-4)

The Gamecocks still aren’t in NCAA Tournament contention yet, but wins over Ole Miss and Mississippi State would likely change that.

5. Ole Miss Rebels (18-7, 8-4)

After a four-game losing streak, the Rebels have responded with four straight wins and have two great opportunities to keep the streak going with upcoming games against South Carolina and Georgia.

6. Auburn Tigers (17-8, 6-6)

Auburn had a few lackluster offensive performances last week, but Bruce Pearl’s needs to get back on track in a hurry with Arkansas and Kentucky up next.

7. Mississippi State Bulldogs (18-7, 6-6)

Mississippi State managed to secure two important wins, and even with Nick Weatherspoon suspended, Ben Howland’s squad has an opportunity for another big week with matchups against Georgia and South Carolina.

8. Florida Gators (14-11, 6-6)

The Gators continued their dominance in Tuscaloosa, and a win at LSU would certainly increase their tournament chances significantly.

9. Alabama Crimson Tide (15-10, 6-6)

Just when you think Alabama is turning a corner, the Crimson Tide lose two straight and now have to hit the road to play a much-improved Texas A&M team.

10. Arkansas Razorbacks (14-11, 5-7)

Arkansas fans aren’t very happy with three straight losses, and it’s going to be tough to turn things around with a road trip to Auburn on Wednesday.

11. Texas A&M Aggies (10-14. 3-9)

The record may not show it, but the Aggies have gotten a lot better in recent weeks and should be capable of earning the season sweep against Alabama.

12. Missouri Tigers (12-12, 3-9)

Missouri has been competitive in a lot of its games, but the schedule doesn’t get much easier with upcoming showdowns against Kentucky and Florida.

13. Georgia Bulldogs (10-15, 1-11)

The Bulldogs had their chances against LSU, and it’s going to be difficult to find a win over the next few weeks with this schedule: vs. Mississippi State, at Ole Miss, vs. Auburn, and at Florida.

14. Vanderbilt Commodores (9-16, 0-12)

Bryce Drew’s group hasn’t won a game in the new year, and now it must prepare for back-to-back road games against Tennessee and Alabama.
