Texas A&M guard Admon Gilder is set to transfer from the program and use his final year of eligibility elsewhere.

Gilder did not play this past season after recovering from a blood clot, and that allows him another year of college eligibility.

He played a huge role in Texas A&M’s success in recent years, but the school still decided to part ways with former coach Billy Kennedy before luring Buzz Williams from Virginia Tech.

Gilder averaged 12.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game during the 2017-18 season and was widely regarded as one of the better guards in the SEC.

He will certainly be one of the best graduate transfers on the market this offseason due to his experience and versatility on both sides of the court, which likely would’ve proven useful for Williams in his first season in College Station.

The Aggies went 14-18 overall this past season after losing several key players to the professional ranks, and that wasn’t enough to help Kennedy keep his job despite two Sweet 16 appearances in three years.

Williams will try to help the program get back on track in a hurry after leading the Hokies to plenty of success.
