Alabama and new head coach Nate Oats have landed a commitment from West Virginia graduate transfer Beetle Bolden.

The 6-0 point guard was a key contributor for the Mountaineers the past few seasons, and now he’ll hope to offer the same type of production in Tuscaloosa.

Bolden averaged 12.2 points and a team-high with 2.5 assists, but injuries caused him to play just 18 games during the season.

However, Oats did get to see Bolden’s abilities early on in the season, with the new Alabama commit scoring 21 points in 23 minutes in a thrilling 99-94 overtime loss to Buffalo.

The addition of Bolden gives Oats and company an experienced option at point guard to go along with Kira Lewis, who recently announced his return to the Crimson Tide after briefly entering the NCAA’s transfer portal.

Oats has already been able to make several significant roster moves since taking over the program, and bringing back Lewis and fellow guard John Petty has been at the top of that list.

The Tide are also set to bring in a top 20 class this year, which should give Oats an opportunity to win right away.
