Mississippi State forward Reggie Perry was named MVP of the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup in Crete.

The 6-10 sophomore led the way for the USA team, which captured the tournament championship on Sunday with a 93-79 victory over Mali.

Perry chose to return to Mississippi State for another season after entering the NBA draft process this offseason.

He averaged 13.1 points and 7.9 rebounds during the FIBA World Cup and had a 28-point performance in the quarterfinal win over Russia.

The Bulldogs return several top contributors this season, with Perry joining Tyson Carter and Nick Weatherspoon as the team’s leading returning scorers.
