Texas A&M basketball is set to play Harvard on Nov. 28 in the first round of the Orlando Invitational.

Other first round matchups include Maryland vs. Temple, USC vs. Fairfield, and Marquette vs. Davidson.

It will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Harvard finished 19-12 last season and advanced to the second round of the NIT, but Tommy Amaker could have a special team this season with his top nine scorers returning.

As for the Aggies, they return several key contributors while Buzz Williams adds a top 40 recruiting class to the mix.

Lovell’s Analysis

Harvard is being projected as a preseason top 25 team, and that tells you all you need to know about the talent that Amaker has on the roster.

The Crimson will have one of the most experienced teams in the country, with Bryce Aiken leading the way as one of the nation’s premier scorers at 22.2 points per game.

So, this first round game will be far from easy for a Texas A&M team that may be adjusting to a new system early on in the season.

But with three double-digit scorers returning in Savion Flagg, Wendell Mitchell, and TJ Starks, the Aggies should be able to make strides in Williams’ first season in College Station.
