Flanigan, who played at Auburn from 1993-97, was most recently the head coach at Little Rock for two seasons.
He was fired this offseason after the team went 7-25 this past season.

Flanigan started as an assistant at Northwest Mississippi Community College back in 2000 and has served in many assistant roles since then, with stints at UAB, Nebraska, and Mississippi State in addition to being a head coach and assistant coach at Little Rock.
He was an assistant at Mississippi State for three seasons under current Southeast Missouri head coach Rick Ray.
Flanigan joins an Auburn team that could return several important pieces in its rotation after clinching a share of the SEC regular season title this past season.

Jared Harper, Bryce Brown, and Austin Wiley have all declared for the draft, but neither have signed with agents, which allows them to return to school for another season should they withdraw by May 30.
